I can't help but think of Dave Chappelle's skit.

Cant go wrong there either. Chicken George!
Also,
It was a shock to me to see Lloyd Bridges play such an evil character.

Wasn't it one of, if not the first big mini-series? I was too young to really pay attention to it, but kind of remember what a big deal it was.

That whipping scene was rough.

I thought it was a good name.

I'd never seen it before and I tuned in for 2 minutes tonight and saw OJ. Totally ruined it for me. I couldn't stop laughing.

Comes on again tomorrow. The full show. Check it out/ignore OJ and you might actually enjoy it.

I forced my wife and my kid to watch it recently on dvd. I've always thought it was something every American should watch. Watching it again decades after it originally aired, it did seem really "old" with poor production value. I'd actually like to see a remake so the current generation could experience it with decent production value.

Two hardest parts to sit through
What's yer name?
and when they took Toby's daughter away to a different plantation.

Great idea.

There really is some great acting throughout...
From Ed Asner, Vic Morrow, Chuck Conners, Rex Reed....
Sidenote: There were some beautiful women in it as well.
Tanya Boyd
Leslie Uggams
Lynda Day George

Hard to believe Lloyd Bridges from Airplane could play such a mean arse racist.
