I tried to search and found nothing, but has anyone else watched it? I streamed it through Netflix this evening and loved it. I didn't know much about his story at all. By the time I started really getting into soccer he had already been in the EPL. I mean from Sunday Pub team to the EPL and USMNT. WOW.

Pelada is awesome, I watched it a while ago. Haven't seen Rise and Shine yet though

I've seen pretty much all of those. One Night in Turin and The Damned United are good. The rest are just okay.

Well bookmark this bitch and we can share some thoughts and titles. Tomorrow I'm hitting cosmos for sure. I am going to make trey watch this with me. So he can see the great Chinaglia. I want the future of USA soccer to be striker swag. Giorgio was the king.

Do they have any about Chelsea's history?

I loved The Damned United.

It looks like Pelada is on Hulu right now as well.

They took damned united down over a year ago. I haven't gotten to catch Rise & Shine yet but I do remember all of the fundraising they did to get the movie made. I also remember Jay's (not so successfull) stint in the EPL with Watford. His story coming from a small Wisconsin university is pretty special though.
I'll definitely be watching this at some point over the next few weeks, thanks for the heads up, bho

You will like it. Going from UIC and going undrafted by MLS, he took a shot and made it. It was really interesting when he went through all of the pub league stories and trials that he went to.

DeMerit was immense in that Confederations Cup game against Spain.
He's not technically gifted, but he's a natural leader at the back. For that reason alone, I think it's worth calling him into a World Cup qualifying roster.

I agree re: Spain but I think his time has come and gone for the USMNT. I'd rather see Gonzo get a chance to play next to Cameron at this point. Although if we're gonna keep trotting out Boca I suppose I'd just as soon see DeMerit assuming hes healthy and playing well for Vancouver. He reminds me a lot of Dempsey, neither are huge talents but both play with a ton of heart.

I'm firmly on the Gonzales bandwagon at this point. LA went from complete shambles to MLS Cup champs after he recovered from his ACL tear.
There's really not much difference between Bocanegra and DeMerit at this point besides a captain's armband around Carlos' arm.

the story is great, i thought the film was poor

i lived in wisconsin for a few years in high school and coincidentally that's when i started watching soccer, so i know a little bit about his story. it's pretty cool, seems like a genuine guy. in regards to the watford stint, i guess i dont know much about their short stay in the EPL, but i think i can remember his coach at watford saying jay was the type of player who if he stayed around for another contract would be captain material. this was when they were playing in the championship, but still i dont think his time at watford was all bad.

His time at watford was definitely a succes. They lost their leading scorer, Marlon King, for pretty much the entire EPL season and they just didn't score any goals. Aston Villa also came in with a big bid for Ashley Young in January of that season.
