I liked Cowherd's take on the situation.

The last thing Brent probably wants to do is be alone after something like this.

The courts will have their day to judge him... in the meantime, Brent is still a human and needs support.

The distraction of being amongst teammates and being at a game might be just what he needs right after such a horrible event.
