So it's a college professor's job to turn a profit for the university? Oh, sorry, my mistake. I always thought it was to educate students in the not-for profit environment that a state university is supposed to be set up to be.

Where does the money come from?

quote:"Not For Profit" businesses/organizations still have a budget and a fiduciary responsibility to curb waste and run the business in a responsible, sustainable way. Needing an 8 million dollar contribution to keep the school budget floating is far from keeping your house in order. If there is that much of a short fall 4 years into this economic recession, someone on the LSU board really sucks at planning and implementation. I wonder how many of these college administrators have ever run a business or balanced a budget. Just because you are not trying to turn a profit does not give you cart blanche with the LSU academic budget.
