i just bought one off GunBroker (9mm) -- supposed to be delivered to my FFL today.

I'll know after I put a couple of thousand rounds through it whether or not it's gonna qualify as a BUG for me.

Lasers ??? Unless you have a vision problem that prevents your seeing the sights, I think lasers serve as a well-marketed crutch that will usually impede one's target acquisition and rate of fire.

I do have a couple of friends (one a retired State Trooper with a lot of experience in their SWAT unit and as a firearms instructor for LSP) who is close to having to go to a RDS for his carry gun. This isn't something he'll do until he absolutely has to -- cause "iron sights" are faster. And iron sights don't have batteries that might die just before you do.

For people who have really poor but correctable (with glasses or contacts) vision, one could make the case for having a laser as a "back-up" sight system for "middle of the night, don't have time to put in my contacts" scenario. But even then, gaining competency with the "iron sights" should be a higher priority.
