In 1982 an undefeated LSU faces Pitt in the Sugar Bowl and wins.
Pitt starting quarterback Dan Marino's leg is broken in career ending injury, Dolphins draft Boomer Esiason who helps the Dolphins win two Super Bowls.
Dalton Hilliard wins the Heisman, and is drafted by the Bucs who squander his talents. Bo Jackson is in turn drafted by the Saints where he has an amazing career deciding not to pursue two sports and helps them win their first Super Bowl in 1991.
Bo Jackson makes New Orleans his home and runs for mayor of the city in 2002, although facing subsequent ridicule for his mishandling of the crisis.
