Wouldn't this change with the rookie pay scale though? Now it's almost worth drafting a late 1st to mid 2nd rounder to let sit for two or three years to develop.

Look at the cost to get a good QB. The Colts had a terrible season and got a good QB, but it won't be a season like they are accustom to. Washington gave up tons of picks to get RGIII. Carolina had to draft first overall to get their QB. And none of these teams is a superbowl contender.

On the other hand, the sit on the bench types like Eli Manning, Aaron Rogers and Philip Rivers have been consistently good NFL QBs.

And what does drafting a Christian Ponder, Andy Dalton or Blaine Gabbert get you?


Not saying you are wrong blues, but I think it's a debatable issue. I do agree that a lot of the QBs are more NFL ready than they used to be though.
