That's the basis of all sports. In baseball its all about homeruns, era, rbi's.

Basketball it's about PPG, rebounds, assist to turnover ratio

Football its ypc, td. passing yards per game, qb rating, sacks.

Stats may be slightly misleading but they generally paint a good picture.

Now of course this topic is up for debate on who thinks who is the best, but the numbers are clear evidence that he is one of the best if not the best.

I'm also gonna update the OP with a highlight video if anyone is interested.

You're argument is valid. My mind was stuck on goalkeeping and what Vicks mentions is in line with my though process.

Some stats are more concise than others.

Pretty much every one of those stats you listed is considered an inferior statistic when comparing players today.
