Wish I knew, called cox four times, reset all my router settings, it started working towards the end of the night

my sound kept doing the thing where it turns to static and you have to restart your PS3. Frustrating as hell, it happened 3 or 4 times.
ETA I also figured out if you go to audio settings and change it from presets mix to soundcrunch, it makes the in-game noises 100% better. You can hear all kinds of things that you couldn't before.
