Both my parents have American Express cards and say the same thing. To be honest I don't really know what makes them so special, but I'm still in school and haven't ever really compared credit cards before.

a) travel perks
b) warranty/accidental damage
c) You're dealing with American Express rather than Chase/Cap One through Visa/MC. I've have fraud issues on my AMEX and my Chase and I would say my experience handing the bullshite was 10000x better with AMEX.
