Curious why the perception that he is botching this? If they are offering shite loads of money and keep getting turned down it's obviously not a very attractive job. How is it his fault? Did he run Fulmer, hire Kiffin, and hire Dooley?

If you believe some Tennessee people, Hart didn't want Gruden. Hart's people were leaking Gruden wasn't interested while big boosters were putting out information that Gruden was interested under the right circumstances.
Now he is screwing it up because he slow played Strong, who was considered the floor for a new hire, while trying to get Gundy from OSU.

I think there is truth in this. But, nobody at Tennessee is going to want to accept this as truth.
In the end, this may be more of an institutional problem than a performance of the AD problem.
I think many people, including myself, may have overrated the attractiveness of the Tennessee job.
