Ever since I have had AT&T UVerse Internet installed in my house the wireless connection between it and my PS3 is unreliable and slow at best (only device in the house that has this issue). Reading some stuff online it seems that my problem is not isolated. One solution I read was to use these ethernet over power adapters in order to plug the PS3 directly into the data. Has anyone ever used these? Any advice? All help appreciated. Thanks.

I have one that DISH gave me when I got it setup. my router is upstairs and the DISH box downstairs and apparently the receiver didn't have wireless capabilities. So they plugged that thing in to the wall, and now anything that is plugged straight in to the wall will pull an IP address. That means you can't run your PS3 through a battery backup/surge protector, but it will definitely get your ps3 an internet connection.

Here you go sir:

box like what I have

hmm, after reading some more, it seems the only reason this works without a 2nd box on my dish receiver is because it's built in...so yeah, looks like it's the same as your original link with needing multiple boxes apparently. my bad.

I have one for my daughters computer in her room. It was that or buy a wireless card. I had won some from a raffle or something years ago and they work fine. I haven't run a speed test on hers but its not noticeably slower than the others in the house through the eye test. The ones I have are probably 7-8 years old so I assume they have gotten better since then

I install those adapters at times for people at work.

They get terrible signal unless both of the plugs are in a dedicated outlet. That means if there are other things plugged into the outlet, the signal sucks.

Never use them on a power strip/surge protecter. Never plug them in next to anything else.

You're welcome.
