Questions and Advice for "THE SHOW '12"

When playing as your star, how necessary is your first year in development. I have a good bit done with my first year of minor league but I'm wonderin if I should start over since I jumped straight in without knowing how to play so well.
I've only got about 15 HR, .320 BA 62 H w 44 RBIs. I'm ranked 2 in Batting on the league and like5/6 in the org. (unless I misinterpreted what that stat was)
This isn't a POXXXXXXX thread. I want to know if I should start over before making the league as an average player. Can you progress a bunch as a pro? Should you go into it with better starting stats like you would an NCAA star?
Any tips would help.

More worried about how the game development works. I know in NCAA your HS games determine how good you'll be by a lot then it's a slower progression from there. Is this the same where your minor is THAT important?

Achieve every goal. Don't steal if not told to.

It is pretty linear progression. More than likely you will be traded to an organization that will need you as a starter once you get close to MLB ready.
If you want the fast tracks to the majors achieve every goal
