Is there any in state hate(Bama/Auburn, KY/Louisville, UGA/GT) that would keep you guys from hiring Malzahn?

Nope. Just don't want him leading our program. I'm not a believer that his system is set up for sustaining success. He's a good offensive mind but i don't think he's the right fit. There would be too many fans divided on this for him to be successful here.

Not to mention prior to him going to state the fanbase was real divided when it came to Malzahn.
Ark fans seem to love him or hate him. Going to A state didn't help him with Hog fans.

Fans not wanting Malzahn has absolutely nothing to do with him coaching at stAte. It has more to do with where the fall in regards to his year at Arkansas and his time at Auburn.

I was just wondering if there is any sense or rivalry between the schools..In Alabama, Bama and Auburn hate each other an generally ignor UAB and South Alabama..In Tenn UT and Vandy hate each other and seem to ignor Middle Tenn and Memphis..Here is Georgia, I despise Tech but Georgia State is moving to the SunBelt next year and I mildly wish them well, as do many UGA people..

There is a small, vocal group that voices their "hate" of him, but I don't think it's enough to factor into Jeff Long's decision.

If you are ever a HC for stAte you'll never be HC at Arkansas. You're poisoned for life over in Jonesboro. That place doesn't even exist to people past Marked Tree.

Here's a true story. Hottest girl I've ever been associated with back in the day, I met her at a softball tournament my school was playing in. She's from Jacksonville, I'm in NWA. We do this long distance thing for nearly a year.
I'm going to U of A, she gets a scholly to play at Arkansas St. We drift apart. She'd come to Fayetteville when she could, I've to this day never been within 60 miles of Jonesboro. I couldn't tell my friends "naw I'm gonna pass on that party and talk to my girl in Jonesboro on the phone."
attending Arkansas State is like having a fresh felony and multiple DWI's on your resume/record.
