Hey Barrister...your reasoning sound logical to me.
I also believe any bowl with a chance to take a 10-2 A&M team with the most exciting player in the country would be stupid NOT to do it.
And I was AT that game in the freezing rain--I lost a watch and a cell phone to the water that day, and got to watch LSU lose the Mud Bowl. Can I get reimbursed for that?

Parrot...I wish. I sat in that freezing shite also. I remember that I decided to not wear my FCS Blazer because of the weather. ( member's green sport coat with the FCS/Cap One patch) I left it in the car and figured I would just retrieve it after the game for the member hoopla/guest relations stuff. I was os humiliated at the conditions of the field, I refused to even put it on that day.
As a side....I did meet Joe Pa and at the time thought it was cool as hell. Funny how that can change. I did not personally meet Sandusky, but I swear I remember a guy there who I am sure was him.
It was a bad day all around. Les was a gentleman, but you could tell he was not happy with the conditions.
