His mom flipped the frick out and selfishly wanted to keep him close to home. She didn't do it because she foresaw her son sitting the bench for a team that was going to make a BCS run.

Well, if he doesn't get to play, she won't have to worry about him playing for away in the NFL either which I'm sure they thought could be a possibility considering his rank out of high school.
