it really just depends on the size of the person, the setting, and the cut of the stone.
2ct is big. I'd say for a small to medium person .50ct (each ear) and for a medium to larger person .75ct

No offense, but, do you know the difference between wholesale and retail and dealer cost?
You should have already ordered a selection of diamonds. You get it, you get to pick the diamonds with the grades attached. It's common...
May I suggest a colored diamond? Try the fancy yellow...the blue,green,red,pink,and black diamonds are available.
Do not use a retail jeweler, otherwise you'll pay 200-1000% over the cost of the diamond.
Good luck...I do know a great jeweler in Milton, FL...He'll sell you the diamonds for cost and shipping and make his money off of the mount.
It's all about the grades if you want to resell or insure. Read about it....
