Sooner or later they are going to have to learn that life carries consequences.
Listen, I know that the SS has always had some profanity in it, but it was never as bad as it is now. I really do blame it on the proliferation of social media and internet messageboards. There is a generation of kids coming up that have lived in a world where their words carried little consequence because of the anonymity of the internet. It's starting to show.
I went to LSU in the late 90s and the one cheer that I remember changing was the "Go Tigers, Go Tigers,Go Tigers, L-S-U" chant to "Go Tigers, Go Tigers, Go- Tigers, Kick their arse" However, no songs were ever banned and if they would have been, then the student section would have probably stopped the profanity for a while. It's to the point now that as soon as one song gets banned the next song gets even more profane and a little bit edgier. There are even students suggesting cursing during the Alma Mater in one of these threads.
Bottom line: time to man up students and realize that you can't win this battle. Also, your actions affect all of the Tiger fans that attend the games.

Not true. They banned Tiger Rag because "a-hole a-hole was heard on TV."
But even the words a-hole and kick their arse are no where near as vulgar as STTDB cheer.
