Best dog I ever had was a Catahoula. She was a "failed" hog dog that was absolutely as protective of wife and kids as any dog I ever had.
Tuffy never chewed up anything we had and was as pleasant a dog as you would ever find. Just don't make any threatening moves!

I gave my mom a BMC mix about ten years ago. She still has her and if the dog does not know you, you are not getting close to my mom unless you wanna get bit.
