There is so much stupid in this thread

The chants are not a real problem IN the stadium for the LSU admin, the problem is TV. The TV crowd mics pick up the chants and CBS or ESPN are now broadcasting STTDB into homes across the country. The FCC gets involved, the networks want it to go away and the LSU admin are embarassed so they kill the songs

In the stadium you really can't hear what the students are saying. I always thought the easiet way to handle this was get some of those plastic dish mics they use on the sidelines and position them near the band. Then pipe the band through the PA and basically drown out the chants for TV with the actual band sound

In 90/91 we started playing the full Tiger Rag after it had been put on hiatus for a few years because of the a-hole chant had been picked up by TV and the LSU admin was pissed. For the Georgia game in week one in 1990, no problems. By the third home game the students had organized the assholes chant again and we had to shelve Tiger Rag at home. This is nothing new and will never go away

The last few games, the song was only played during commercial breaks. It lets the students have their fun all the while protecting the LSU brand.

And what part of the stadium is that?

I can hear student vulgarities on the east and west side and in the northeast corner. I've never sat in the south so I cannot speak for that end of the stadium.
