Not swamp pop/more traditonal Cajun, but it's my favorite Cajun tune.

For those who aren't nitpickers about geography, this track by an English band definitely has a swamp-pop vibe:

Cajun or Swamp-Pop?
Johnnie Allan - "Promised Land" -- Hard to classify a record with an accordion solo as swamp-pop
Johnnie Allan - "South To Louisiana"

A question for the Cajun music buffs:
Fairport Convention - "Si Tu Dois Partir"
It's a cover of Bob Dylan's "If You Gotta Go, Go Now", with the lyrics translated into French. The (English) band claimed they did this because the arrangement sounded Cajun to them.
My question: Does this really sound Cajun?
It's a great record, but it's never sounded remotely Cajun to me. Even in French. Of course my experience with Cajun music is limited, so I may be wrong...

Are you interested in old albums and cassettes. I have a lot from my younger years in La. and B.R. in the 70's and 80's. I don't listen to them anymore, I moved to Miss. for my corporate job and am stuck here. E-mail me if you are interested. You can download most songs for .99 cents each and make you own cd's off of Amazon.com or buy then mail order off Floyd's record shop.com site, they have everything. If you want mine email pdginn@bellsouth.net. I could mail them to you for peanuts.
