With Maryland in the B1G now all the tv companies in the DC area will have to have the BTN don't matter who watches it will be part of superscription only a few companies right now in DC have it.

um, no.

That's not how it works.

The companies do not "have to" carry the B1G network. What it does is increase the subscriber fee for cable companies in Maryland if they do choose to carry it.

In other words, the subscriber fee for the B1G network is higher in states with a B1G school than in states without a B1G school. So, the hope for the B1G is that they can convince the Maryland and New Jersey cable providers to carry the B1G network, thus increasing their revenue.

um yes

when BTN becomes part of the sports package and its the only way to watch Terps hoops which they are crazy about people will demand their company carries it.

It isn't just Maryland (including Baltimore). It's also Washington, DC and northern Virginia. Tons of Maryland alums in this area.
