Ingram can barely visualize himself past the line of scrimmage. Now you want him running routes out the backfield? Hold on big fella.

So, we go from "TRADE INGRAM RIGHT NOW!!!!!!11one" to "Ingram appears to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, let's get rid of Thomas."

You gotta love ST.

ETA: Ingram has improved (there's no doubt about that), but Pierre is still a superior back in every aspect of the positon.

Between fantasy football and Madden a lot of fans seem further away from reality and at the same time fancy themselves as armchair GMs.

there needs to be more salary cap 101 sites to edumicate also. HERE is one to start with if ya don't know much about capology.

PT is only a $2.5mil hit next year. Very reasonable for how vital he is.

If you want some cap room there are more obvious answers-

Ellis gone is a given. His $7.3mil cap hit will be gone

Will Smith is over $14.5mil cap hit and will save $9mil of cap room cutting

Vilma $6.5mil cap. $4.8mil savings

Harper $15mil cap next two years, $11.25mil savings

If Bunkley isn't all they hoped he would be he has a very cuttable deal too. It would cost $4mil of cap but save almost $17mil over the next four years.

That could total over $25+mil extra to spend (not including Bunkley). Of course ya have to replace the players but would have some fresh free agent currency

this, is response to trading Ingram. Looks like #28 is starting to play like we all hoped he would. Hard running, getting tough yards. Ingram brings a different dynamic to the offense. He's not as much of a receiver as Thomas, but he's a more powerful runner. This can help the team- with Ingram and Ivory, we are starting to see a legit running threat. So he's not as good a receiver; so what? The added defensive emphasis on stopping the run will make Graham's job much easier; linebackers will be watching the backfield a little more. Keep in mind, too, that Ingram and Ivory are still young, and PT is nearer the end than the start of his career. Ingram conceivably plays the rest of Brees' career, while PT won't. I get that PT is popular, and I get that LSU/Saint fans hate Ingram's Bama connections. But Ingram is now "one of ours". Gotta keep the team built with one eye on the future, hence Graham > Shockey. Along those lines, Ingram might be > Thomas

Lol at every damn bit o this.
