Other teams and markets have to deal with football season as well so please don't say it's because of the Saints or LSU games this weekend. Here are some hard facts with the attendance of other teams so far this year:
TONIGHT
Cleveland - 20,562
Golden State - 19,596
Minnesota (w/ Sacramento in town LOL) - 19,356
Charlotte (w/Indiana in town LOL) - 19,124
New York - 19,033
Los Angeles - 18,997
Orlando - 18,846
Boston - 18,624
Atlanta (LOL) - 18,238
Oklahoma City - 18,203
Phoenix - 15,107
NEW ORLEANS - 14,147
OPENING NIGHT
Chicago - 21,313
Cleveland - 20,562
Portland - 20,401
Miami - 20,296
Toronto - 19,800
Philadelphia - 19,101
Los Angeles (Clippers) - 19,060
Los Angeles (Lakers) - 18,997
Utah - 17,634
Detroit - 16,646
Phoenix - 15,678
NEW ORLEANS - 15,358
The Hornets just drafted a once in an exciting once in a lifetime player #1 with Davis, have a new LEGIT owner that has extreme ties with the city and community, have on average the lowest ticket prices in the league, lowered concession prices, etc etc yet they can't even get close to a sellout on the first week of playing. It's going to be funny when the only games that sellout are when Miami, New York, LA, etc or if the team overachieves and the bandwagon fans jump aboard. This has been an ongoing problem with the team for years yet people still blame it on the same excuses.... why not accept the fact that maybe it's the fans and not the product being put on the court? Still love my Hornets and wish them the best, but it's got to be hard for the players to see half empty arenas ALL the time except when big market teams come to town. It's a disgrace when teams like Toronto and Charlotte can sell out, but the Hornets can't even get to 17,000.

why do you care so much?
the hornets aren't leaving or threatening to leave at this point.
also,
honestly and sincerely,
just kidding though

I agree that the attendance is an issue. Opening night was pretty pathetic, especially in the lower bowl.
I'll wait till later in the season to really see how poor it is, but I don't accept the excuses others do.

That's a retarded way to compare teams. How about percentage of capacity?

Could be the economy? How much are tickets by the way?
