Never touched a Halo game. Thinking bout trying this one, do I need to play others first?

Watch the Forward Unto Dawn series first. It was designed to catch up noobs on the story.

Even if this Halo wasn't coming out I would HIGHLY recommend playing the others, and get the new original Halo: Combat Evolved-Anniversary Edition. They improved the story, the graphics and its a higher quality game, not to say the first one wasn't, but clearly the new one is made better.

The story is the best part of Halo IMO. I'm looking forward to the cut scenes as much as anything. Read some of the Halo wiki's to catch up.
