What they have going for them is Episodes 1,2,3 are so fricking bad, what they produce will have to be an improvement.

Unless they go full Jar Jar. Which, being Disney, is a distinct possibility.

You know when I went to see Episode 1's 3d re-release, all I could think about was that 2-3 changes could have taken that movie from well what it was (I'm less harsh on it than others) to a worthy movie.

1. Cast a better Anakin. Seriously the kid couldn't act and his demeanor did not match the character at all. Seriously he's a slave. His mother is a slave. This kid is going to become the greatest badass this galaxy has ever seen. He's suppose to be heartbroken when he leaves his mother and use that as anger. This kid just didn't have it. Anakin's early story was fine, but his dialogue and the acting was crap.

2. The Gungans shouldn't have been a joke race. They should have made them more intimidating. Make them a true badass warrior race. Think reptilian wookies. Maybe they lost a war to the Naboo before and want to redeem themselves by fricking up anyone or anything that wants to take over their planet.

3. Obi-wan shouldn't have been Qui-Gon's apprentice. Neeson would have been better on his own. Build Qui-Gon up to be a bad motha of a Jedi. When Anakin seems him get stabbed by Darth Maul, he starts to force-choke him because Anakin sees him like kids today would see a IRL superhero. Anakin would kill him and that foreshadowing of him would have been boss. As for Obi-wan, have him be a teen at the Jedi Temple when Yoda and crew decide to train Anakin. They forge a quick natural bond over Q-G because OW was tight with Q-G and was in line to be his apprentice.

Could have built on that going into the second movie, but whatever. What's done is done.
