Sounds liek a good tactic then.

I don't see the read option as a viable offensive attack on LSU's front early in a game. Late in the game or with key injuries it could be profitable though.

It's hard to really say either way, since we have only used it when teams are worn down. But since we have only used it for hand offs and QB runs, I would like to think that we want defenses to assume that's the norm so Sims can have a chance to air it out. He has a pretty big arm IIRC and did really well in high school. Yes, HS =/= college, but I still think it could be a good wrinkle in our otherwise humdrum offense.
