Opening weekend in GA

I had a good weekend! The best part was seeing a freind on mines son get blooded after killing his fisrt Deer. He is 6 years old, and scored his age on a nice fat 6 pointer. It doesn't get any better than that. I think his dad was more proud than he was.
Yesterday afternoon, I shot a good meat deer. Big bodied with a small and tight rack. 130 on the scales, six points with a long kicker at the base on one side. He will be a welcome addition to my freezer. I took a pic of him with my Remington 7400 for El Josey Wales!
I saw another small buck this morning, cruising. He got a pass. A doe is next on the hit list. Ate pulled pork and ribs with mom and dad then hunted this eve. The guy I hunt with shot a spike for his meat buck. I didn't take any pictures though.
A fine weekend for sure!

Nice, and you're right. It's fun to see kids get in on some action.

When you put your cursor over the picture a drop down box will have the choices below:

Direct Link
HTML code
IMG code
Copy the IMG code and paste it directly. Or you can click on the "IMG" tag to the right when you're posting any post on here and but that requires taking off the image tags and the http on one so I'd suggest sticking with pasting it for now.

He told me in detail about it, and his dad did too! They have almost identical stories, but the kids is better!!!

The bucks in SE GA are chasing does like crazy. I will be back out there in the morning and tomorrow and Wednesday morn and eve.
A doe is next on the hit list unless a big buck comes by. I got my meat buck, so it is trophy buck from here on out.
Counting this morning, I have seen 14 deer so far in the woods since Saturday morning. I did not hunt this evening..... took a break to get some stuff done around the house.
