Because for the longest it was to aTm's advantage to play us moreso that it was for us. There were actually some early years they were a whore game. They did make more money coming to us instead of playing a home for a number of years. This all ultimately changed.

My Dad took my brother and I to the '58 & '59 LSU - Ole Miss games, back to back in BR. I think TS was the biggest in the South behind Tulane Stadium and then as now money was the draw.
