Copeland has the grunting skills when he gets the ball. Scary stuff.

Yea he came in with a lot of hype, but has failed to perform unfortunately.

He isn't getting an opportunity.

Had his best game of the year two games ago and then disappears from the game plan.

Shep doesn't touch the ball because we have 6 guys that are better with the ball their hands

Bull shite. Maybe those guys are better running the ball up the middle then Shep. But there isn't a guy on our team I would take over Shep in the open field with the ball already in his hands.

He has no pocket awareness either. Who turns around completely to avoid the rush?

when we go away from our junior high passing game and take some chances down field it seems we get positive results assuming the receiver isn't on the ground when he catches it.

why does JC Copeland touch the ball then?

Because he gains yards. We ran the fake FB pitch out to Ford for a good gain then went to Copeland on the FB dive that caught SC off guard and picked up the first down. It's called good playcalling. I like Shep but he doesn't run good routes as a WR, he runs soft out if the backfield and he doesn't block well. The best thing Shep did tonight was be a decoy in the fake sweep trap that Ware picked up a first down on.

-Kenny Hilliard got SOFT. Runs straight up and at the first sign of contact just turns his back to the defender and lets himself get tackled

I agree that Hilliard didn't run as hard tonight as he has in other games. He may be a little nicked up because he certainly didn't appear to run as hard as usual.

Where has he shown this? Long runs against Townsen aren't of value.

Couple of runs he didn't finish.

what does Shepard do when he carries it?

remember when he circled around backwards like he was in a pop warner game and had speed? That was sweet.

That was a good play. I would like to see Shep throw the ball on that sweep play or at least give him the option to throw it.

This isn't Shep's first year at LSU. We actually used to let him run the ball every now in then in a wild cat package where he never ever threw the ball. My point is, that when ever Shep has had the ball in his hands and wasn't running into 8 or 9 dudes, he has been extremely elusive. We almost never put him in that situation though.

The WR corps is horrendous. Boone can't catch. Beckham won't catch because he thinks he is going to win the heisman on every play and is too busy to make time for that silly ball. Landry is slow and awkward. Wright catches 50% of the balls thrown his way and makes sure he has one knee on the ground for the other half.

They are really bad.

he averages 6.8 yards per carry coming into this year. He has had big runs against Auburn, Bama and UNC.

its cute that you pretend to not be retarded. the point is that running a few jet sweeps with shepard a game would open up the other 30 toss dives up the middle that we are going to run anyway.

as it stands now, we run up the middle non stop and have 2 outside run plays for Ford.

He is averaging around 7 yards per carry for his career. He isn't a WR, he is valuable out of the backfield.

Anyone averaging about YPC on around 100 carries is worth a few looks.
