I'm saying they hit a peak and then all of a sudden they take a massive step backwards and it doesn't make sense. Look at what happened to Black. Hurst played great last year until the NC game and he hasn't been the same since. Josh D. looked like he actually started getting better in 2010 and he hasn't looked that great since.

Williford even looked better most of last year compared to this year...

You don't think that's odd? The longer an olineman stays here, the worse they get...it really seems that way.

Why do they all of sudden take huge steps back whenever expectations get higher for them? Hell, Faulk didn't even look good in his first game this season.

Ciron Black played a year and a half with no cartilage in his knees. He gets a pass.

Black - played on a bad knee his whole senior year
Josh D - sat out with a knee injury all of last year
Wiliford - has been injured much of this year

See any pattern?

The difference is Ben Wilkerson . . . FACT . . .

The oline was ok at the start of Studs tenure because of the veteran olineman left over from Searles coaching. Then the oline coaching and technique went down. It did not come back up until Ben Wilkerson came aboard. He is know gone and you see the effect. wilkerson ws coaching the oline last year while Stud was playing OC.

Honestly some of the guys careers arent over yet. Ciron was probably over played since he played from day 1. Lonergan has had injuries through out his career. Hurst is playing out of position rt now and maybe other things are affecting his play. Williford has been fine to me and just received a concussion and continued to play.

Carnel Stewart got better every year, Herman Johnson, Barksdale, Ciron until is sr year, which he was out in tigerland every fricking night. Hebert leveled off but didnt get worse. Brett helms, ryan miller. I mean come on.

I know some guys were recruited by saban, but stewart switched to OT in 06.
