From the Jimmy Kennedy Whistle blower thread:

quote:

As NFL owners prepare to gather in Chicago for the first full meeting since a string of embarrassments smacked against the shield like a repeated pecan pies in the face, the gratuitous outing of a whistleblower who never became a witness can be added to the list of things for which the owners could be demanding a full and complete explanation.

It got me thinking.

What do any of the owners think of all this? Will they demand a full and complete explanation? Do they think Goodell is abusing his power?

I realize Goodell represents them. Yet how much of all this bad publicity (bounty, replacement refs, etc) is Roger's doing opposed to the owners'?

At this point it seems the fans dont care and that they will keep watching the games and spending money on the NFL. If that's the case do the owners even care?

Of course the owners care. They are limited in what they cand o because ultimately everything they own is owned by the shield. Goodell just better not forget that they are his bosses and their teams pay his salary. Thats why the NFL should have a seperate panel or organization that deal specifically with fines and discipline for players, coaches, and oranizations.
