I've seen all colors, all prices & still some of them just don't get it. I've also seen some of all that has it no matter what the price & bloodline is

Like I said, there are some great yellows and chocolates. But it's a recessive gene. If you're selecting for color, you're not selecting for something else. If you want the best chance of a dog with ability. always bet on black.
