I do agree that when we win the TOP we are successful. Teams that control the TOP have 2 things in common. They can run the ball all day and convert 3rd downs. But why didnt we win the TOP vs UF? We were running against 9 men in the box so they stuffed it all day long. And we were what 1 of 13 on 3rd downs?

A good defense helps just a tad in keeping the opponents O on the sidelines. That is the total package, otherwise a shitty D gives up points at will and TOP is rendered moot.
