are these a car that if done correctly can be used as an every day driver? or be considered very dependable? anyone ever own one? how much would it cost to fix one up? inquiring minds want to know
or is this just a dream car that will never be financially reasonable?
ETA: im in no position to buy this, just asking random questions

are you a mechanic?
are you a mechanic with lots of money?
If you answered no to either of these, please stay away..
I've had about 8 of them, starting in the 70's and loved them all.. Just keep in mind that they are over 30 years old and if you can't afford a complete rebuild or buy one rebuilt and you're not a mechanic,,, well you get the idea... I just sold my last 74 about a year ago..

Parts are a little difficult to find and high as giraffe vagina
They can be an everyday vehicle just get ready to get raped on maintenance fuel and parts
But they're bad arse... wish I had one..............

I wish B$B were here. He has a bronco and could give some insight.

I think you linked the wrong photo. There's no car in it.
And no, take it from an ex-jeep CJ driver, any of these older 4x4 will be subject to rust, wiring problems, stuff vibrating loose, horrible gas mileage, uncomfortable rides, danger, squirrely steering, leaking, and shitty windshield wipers.
All that said, they're awesome toys. Don't get one as a daily driver though. It gets old after a while.

I got a buddy who bought one that wasn't rebuilt, but was an "everyday" driver. It has been about 6 months and he is trying to get rid of it. Too much $$$ to keep it up. Gauges always breaking, lights quit working while driving, and it gets about 5 mpg.

They are great vehicles for what they are.
A truck that age will need about 1:1 work to fun put into it. For every hour of driving you are going to put in an hour of maintenance over the life of the vehicle to keep her on the road trouble free.
IMO that is a classic 2nd vehicle that I would never depend on to get me to work on time every day.

Got a line on well-maintained 1993 Bronco.
Never driven off road. Never driven fast on the road.
Owner simply doesn't use it anymore.
Call (775) 273-1300 and ask for Orenthal.

Damn, but that thing is gorgeous. I have a CJ7 that I drive daily, but I've upgraded to things like fuel injection and capacitative discharge ignition. If you don't care about being "stock" and are handy with cars, the old Broncos are great, but if you want to keep it absolutely stock and it wasn't meticulously restored recently, then you will be frustrated with the maintenance.

I would love to have one.
A few year back, I was traveling in Idaho and Wyoming and they were everywhere out there. I looked at a few and the prices were pretty good too. I wish I had bought one.

Find one that someone else has already fully restored, I'll buy one eventually but it will be a second vehicle

First, I didn't read the thread, but that's not a 77.
Second, they do not make a good daily driver. I can tell you anything you want to know about them.

I know I'm really late to this party, but if you are okay with lots of road/engine noise, stiff ride, and very few, if any, creature comforts; then it would make a good DD. Remember, that's something you have to live with every day...and if you don't like it and decide to get rid of it, you'll be lucky to get a fraction of what you have invested in it.
I was looking at Jeep Wranglers for a DD not long ago...but realized that if I had to drive a rag-top Wrangler everyday, I'd go crazy...and the Winter would suck...as well as any long drives I'd have to make...so I didn't buy one.

I've got a '79. Money Pit. I'm always fixing or replacing something. I bought it knowing it would be a long term project and I'd eventually replace everything.
Mine was a trail truck that I'm slowly turning into a semi-daily driver, it's fun and I like the attention. People always come up and talk to me and ask questions when I take it out.
The early Broncos are kinda pricey but there's aftermarket parts for everything and lots of Bronco and off road clubs out there to help you.
My advice is don't buy one from a moron that clusterfricked everything and put off repairs like I did. All sorts of little things started messing up not long after I got it. Trust me that the more you drive it, the more you'll fix it.
