Wow, just reading an article about the players from Oviedo (Spain) who are doing well in England, and I forgot, Pirès is also from here/there (genetically).

FYI

Cazorla
Mata
Michu
Pirès

It's amazing, but, if y'all saw the football base programme here, you'd be wondering why there weren't more.

This quote from Arsene about Santi was nice:

quote:

Cazorla is technically perfect. He is really fast and has a reportory which is uncommonly ample, which gives us many variances in attack.

Ah, there will be more. I've seen the system firsthand for fifteen years. Just think when we find out how to get the beasts performing at this level (we've got kids at 12,14 years old who are 6'3+ and are pretty damned strong with ball skills). Imagine a Santi Cazorla who is Javi size. Obscene. Totally obscene. Yet, this is the future.

As an Arsenal fan all I can say is I love me some Santi. Not quite as good as Cesc but definitely in the same ballpark.

In other sports, the athletes are bigger, faster, stronger than ever before while maintaining or even improving the level of technique from the greats of the past. Basketball, football, and (especially) golf are great examples of this trend.

The future in soccer is going to be those bigger, faster, and stronger players with ridiculous technique usually found in smaller guys. It's great to see that shift coming into this sport.

To even imagine a dude with center back size, top speed, and world-class ball control is stunning...I can't wait to see these kids you're talking about down the road.

Cazorla isn't as good as Cesc.
