Here's my take.
We have lots of guys on offense who've made too many mistakes this season, and those mistakes have killed momentum or failed to capture momentum when we really needed it. QB, receivers and o-line mainly.
This offense desperately needs sustained success under fire, to build its confidence and then play even better with that renewed confidence.
It is hard to HAVE to turn things around on the road, but that is where we are. Our offense has backed itself into a tough spot. Now, we have to play mistake-free and rebuild our confidence in a very hostile atmosphere.
If the offense can do that, even if we end up having to swallow a loss, in a close, well-played battle in the swamp, this team could still go on to contend for the SEC, as expected.
But if our offense continues to make stupid mistakes, hand momentum to our opponent, and keep our defense on the field too long, we could be in for a long season, and every game left on our schedule will be a big challenge.
I believe our guys will step it up today, play with focus and win this game.
But I also believe they will make a few mistakes and will have to maintain their confidence and focus in the face of adversity, to earn that victory in the swamp.
It needs to start with confident leadership from our young moustache-less qb.
C'mon Mett, show the fans and your teammates confident, fired-up, body language for 60 minutes, and your Tigers will prevail.
