Try three months. An then a week at the most important time of the year.

He is just not into it. He needs a fresh start elsewhere and the rangers need a fresh start without him. There already is not enough positions for the young incoming talent.

I like watching the guy and root for him but if I were in charge of any organization I would be very hesitant to put big money behind him. He needs an almost perfect set of surroundings to flourish and stay on the right track. He's not a guy that can keep himself straight. He's a true addict and needs a strong group of veterans and people around that will keep him on track. This big of a change could be catastrophic for his recovery and cause him to relapse. Some one will throw a ton of money at him but they risk it being one huge frickup in the end. If I'm him or Boston, I stay as far away from one another as possible.
