We have had a pretty competitive league for a few years now and we have tried a few different ways to make it fun and competitive.
Everyone agreed last years settings were the best so far.
H2H 8 Categories (FG%, FT%, 3PM, REB, AST, STL, BLK, PTS) you get a win or loss for each category each week.
Starters each day you can tweak your lineup.
PG
SG
SF
PF
C
UTIL
UTIL
5 Bench Spots
2 IR Spots
This really keeps people involved with who they are starting each day. and kind of gives each manager an opportunity to shape his team the way he wants. If you want to start a big lineup (2 UTIL guys are bigs) and dominate Rebounds, Blocks, and FG% you can. It makes the matchups more interesting and adds some strategy to who wanna start each day (which keeps people invested)
If you have a league with a huge starting lineup and people don't have a need to make changes they lose interest.
I like ESPN because you can swap your lineup a week in advance.
