Why does the girl grab the bear

Some people have addressed zombies having some sort of memory of their past life. To keep using the walking dead, why does Morgan's wife, who is a zombie, go to the front door of her house and rattle the door knob? She knows the house is familiar, but doesn't know why. There is no reason she grabbed the bear, other than it looks familiar to her, but she probably forgot she was holding the bear after picking it up.

That wasn't their house. It's Rick's neighbor, not Morgan's family.

It was simply a way to introduce the show. Rick was hesitant, almost looked like he was seeing his first zombie, and is reluctant to shoot but eventually does.

I really don't think that scene is anything more than that.
