The vote was to translate laws into German, but it got shot down by one vote. If it would've passed, German could've been on it's way to being a dominant language in America. Really interesting story that gets twisted by some due to urban legend.

America doesn't have a statutory official language, but English has always been the dominant one.

(But you all probably knew that. I just had to refresh myself via Google.

yeah, i didnt know you were speaking so far back. your post made it seem like this was a recent event- hence the confusion.

just because i didnt respond to it doesn't mean i dont understand what an automaton is
