8:41 2nd quarter - Josh D pancakes the invisible man. Hilliard tackled for a loss inside the 5 yard line.
JD had nothing to do with the loss on this one and looks like he got tripped up while blocking #98.
The OLB was spying the backfield on the edge.

When you see him laying on the ground ineffectively so much, you kinda start to feel bad for him.

yeah, I do.

7:26 2nd - 3rd and 1. Lemoiner blows JD up in the backfield. Ford has to wait for Copeland to block Lemoiner since JD couldn't be bothered with all that. Ford tackled for no gain. LSU has to punt.
This one kinda influenced Ford to commit to running inside the tackles which looked like he was initially intending to go outside the tackle.
If Ford had gone to outside, I think he gets that first down even with JD getting pushed back.
Don't know if I can pin this one solely on JD.

As you can see in image 4, the player engaged with JD had nothing to do with that tackle and if Copeland had lead to the inside, I think he might get the first down.

ummm, because he destroyed the play in the backfield and had to be blocked by Copeland or else he would have made the tackle for a 4 yard loss. Watch the play on youtube.

I've watched it five times on my DVR...If Ford followed Copeland to the outside, he would have got the first down and more. I agree that JD got beat and contributed to the loss but not as much as your making it out to be on this one.
You were right on the money with this one...
quote:
14:07 3rd quarter - Josh D completely whiffs on Lemoiner. Ware is forced to waste 2 seconds juking him in the backfield and bounce outside. Ware tackled for a loss.
And this one was pretty accurate as well as JD should have pushed up to engage the LB instead of just standing there.
quote:
12:30 3rd - 3rd and 3. Josh D again destroys an invisible defensive lineman while letting real defensive linemen and linebackers free to tackle Ware for no gain.
