i'm saying that it's definitely more than a majority of those away fans.
More than a majority? Where are you getting this from?
Everyone else in this thread has called these awful chants "the actions of a vocal few", but you claim it's a majority...I don't get it.
I know you hate United, but this is a stretch.

Come on now. The acts of a few don't bring down one of the biggest clubs on the planet.
I was about to come down on y'all for supporting Pool in spite of the American flag burning for this very reason, but gotta give you mad props here.

Fans were arrested for chanting something? That is pretty sad.

Why would you think otherwise? I clearly stated in the OP that actions like these have no place in society, much less sport. I am fully against all Liverpool supporters who have made chants like that and if I saw a Liverpool supporter on this site make similar statements as 20legend has, I'd be the very first to call them out and tell them to GTFO.

What's the story behind all this hillsborough mess?
Keep in mind I just started falling soccer this year.

#1 Are you really a Stoke fan?
#2 Hillsborough Wiki
#3 BBC explanation of what happened on that day.
#4 Would recommend reading this one above all others. Just wow.

My best advice would be to type it into YouTube.
Too many fans were allowed into pens at Hillsborough and many were crushed and 96 were killed. It was an overcrowding situation. Fans rushed onto the pitch early in the match to avoid the crush. The match was a 1989 FA Cup Semifinal between Liverpool and Nottingham Forrest held at Hillsborough. A report came out this week (or maybe last week) that stated that the Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
ETA: Or, better yet, just read Beast's post.

This actually sums it up quite well in a small paragraph.

I'm lazy so I just tried to sum it up as quickly as possible.

Absolutely revolting, offensive and unnecessary from both sides.
I understand the intensity and importance the rivalry holds, but I'm all for respect in competition. 3 points is never worth more than human life, and fans should learn to separate a rivalry from daily life.

They're a gritty arse team. I like it.
