don't have a legit RR at WR, outside of OBJ.

What say you?

I agree with the part about Mettenburger, but I think we have good WRs. Maybe not a great one yet, but capable WRs.

This weekend IS the test. hostile crowd, better secondary than what we have faced so far. How much better is TBD. I am watching this game with some worry.

Mett hasn't been tested on the road. His only road game has been Ole Miss last year when the game was easily in hand.

OBJ, Boone, Landry, and Wright have really stepped up in the passing game. Even Shep looked better last week.

We don't have a tall physical go to guy like we did last year in RR. But we have a lot of guys that will go up and get the ball.

Our receivers have had the dropsies this year. His analysis seems pretty valid.

I am glad that he is getting his first road game out against a struggling Auburn team then starting in the Swamp.

Jordan Hare is a tough venue. LSU is 1-4 the last 5 times we've played in Jordan Hare. Though this Auburn team isn't quite up to what those Auburn teams were.

This weekend won't even be his first test. 4-0 Florida in the swamp will be his first test.

Well no shite, considering he hasn't even played on the road yet.

We do, and we are actually pretty deep there it seems. Not much of a drop off between 1 and 5. But none of them are the big, physical, can-get-separation-on-any-play type that we've been accustomed to. I thought coming into the season that that might be one of our few weaknesses. I guess we'll find out next month whether or not it hurts us.

I'm a little worried but not in the traditional sense.

I'm not worried that we lose the game at all.

and maybe worry is the wrong word, I think anxious fits better. I am anxious to see how this young squad fares mentally in a hostile crowd against a storied opponent. All of these guys grew up watching the epic battles that LSU and Auburn used to have at Jordan Hare. I'm anxious to see if that intimidates them or motivates them. That will be the first glimpse of the true metal of this young football team imo.

I think he has some things that make him standout. I don't think we truly have a "best receiver" this year like we did last year with RR.

Landry probably has the best hands on the team. And his downfield blocking is awesome.

I think OBJ is the most dangerous WR we have when he has the ball in his hands though.

Not taking anything away from Beckham because he is fun to watch with the ball in his hands, I just think Landry is better. His hands are incredible outside the one drop, and like you said, his blocking is fantastic.

Beckham's hands have been phenomenal also outside of the Washington game. I can't put either one above the other at this point they're just peers but I expect one to rise above the rest before this season is out.

Well, I agree with him. Jury is still out since Mett's best practice to date has probably been in practice. Will see what he has after a couple road conference games.

I think the AU game will be a decent road prep for Florida. They may suck, but it's on the road, and it is in conference. Better than UDub and rent a wins.
