We would have fallen a good 5-7 spots ...you know, the usual drop after a loss.

Bama dropped 2 spots....with 4 games left, they had plenty of time to clime one lousy spot to #2.

The truth is, they were better than OSU, but they didn't earn the chance to play in the MNC IMHO. Why? Because they lost the regular season game to LSU which is essentially the playoffs. Win and advance.

LSU vs. Bama was already decided, LSU won the SECW and the SEC...Bama finished second.

So, logically, you give OSU the MNC spot ..but Bama pasted the eye ball test

What would have happened if LSU lost to UGA?

Have you or anyone else here noticed that this year is the first year in nearly a decade that we haven't heard the slogan:

EVERY GAME COUNTS?

There is a reason for that now, and especially in 2014. Anyone who is paying attention should realize what is going on with CFB.

That "playoff" everyone is so excited about in 2 years is going to be nothing more than a Media Darling final four love fest of re-dos, mulligans and second, maybe even third chances for teams like Bama, USC, Ohio State, Texas, Notre Dame and OU.

Get ready.

I believe that can only be proved on the field. the cowboys' were champions of a conference rated higher than the SEC...they beat more ranked teams than bama did...5 of 7 bcs computer models had OSU ranked higher than bama...their only loss was a triple ot game on the road whereas, bama's only loss was in ot at home.

bama has become the southern version of ND (without the academics). it's the world we live in.

We all know that Bama would have played Okie State - there is no question about that, at all.
