I used to have the link saved because it came up so much on this board in the early days. The old rules were that you could play in 2 games in an 11 game season or 3 in a 12 game season and still be redshirted. I assume the rules have changed but the only thing I've seen linked is a blog.

redshirt eligibility.
Notice it said to get a medical redshirt its less than 20% of playing time, not just a regular redhirt.
