Pete Carroll Says LSU Poked Mike da Tiger with Cattle Prods
I realize that standard of care for animals like Mike were much different back in the day. But do you think the handlers were retards? At any point when dealing with a 700lb meat eating cat, does it sound like a good idea to intentionally make him angry?
There have never been 'handlers', just the driver of the truck and maybe one Vet school official walking along as the truck pulls Mike's cage around the field.
Cheerleaders may have put a mike up, but nothing could """"""""FIT"""""""" in between the outer shell with smaller holes, set far away from the actual cage inside the outer shell.
Even if someone did "bang" the cage, it would be the outer shell, not the cage itself.

And I think that inner shell was put in during the Mike IV reign. As it is now, it would be difficult to put anything dangerous or even alarming to a 700 pound cat into the cage now. Some people misinterpet the microphone being raised to catch his roars as some sort of stick in the cage.
