In 1957 G.L. Crockett released a rare example of black rockabilly, "Look Out Mabel".
In 1965 Crockett had a minor R&B hit w/ "It's A Man Down There" , an Elmore James/Sonny Boy Williamson song later covered by The Allmans.
Presumably it was that minor success that got him on this tour.
Crockett died of alcoholism in 1967.

The Archie Bell single would later be covered by the NY Dolls, one of tGOAT hard rock covers of a soul track (IMHO it cuts the original completely)
