I want to be a CPA and one day be a CFO for a bank.....working on the CPA now....climbing the corporate ladder....I don't want to be in lending / sales.
I would love to become a consultant for bank boards once I get some gray hair....

I guess it couldn't hurt to have that on your resume, but with a CPA you should be gtg. I'm not saying it's a complete waste of time, but if you really don't want to do it and your employer's ok with your not going, I wouldn't sweat it.

I would do it for these reasons...besides, I would find it hard to turn down anything they offer training wise...unless there would be some reason you couldn't do it.

IMO part of climbing the corporate ladder is doing BS like this...especially if offered/encouraged by your bank. If it somehow interferes with your CPA prep you should find a way to get out of it.
