I was prepared too, i had the generator on within minutes of losing power.
Only turn it off to change the oil, but still no bank open by me, no gas stations, long drives for food and groceries and having to deal with idiots who don't get that no lights means four way stops.

Entergy loses money every second you are out of power, but you are right, they are milking this for everything it is worth.
